If one screen isn't enough, Expanscape has a prototype that might be of interest. Check out today's blog to explore how the Aurora 7 gaming laptop might be everything you need right now.

Expanscape Aurora 7 prototype design

Introducing Expanscape Aurora 7—a gaming laptop for gamers who feel limited with only one screen. This device is in the prototype stage, although the current version boasts four 17.3-inch 4K UHD panels and three 7-inch displays at 1,920 x 1,200 resolution.

Integrating the seven screens into one device

Seven screens is a lot for one laptop, though, it’ll certainly be beneficial for avid gamers. Aurora 7 adopts a clamshell-style main display with a second landscape screen that folds up over this display. It then features two portrait-orientated screens on the other side of the laptop. From these side screens, two smaller displays pop up. And a final miniature display is built into the right corner located by the palm rest.

In particular, the main screens are 17.3 inches with a 3,840 x 2,160 display. Meanwhile, the three smaller screens measure seven inches with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200.

Features two batteries to power the screens

With those extra screens, the Expanscape Aurora 7 features two internal batteries to power it. The primary one is a 82 Wh battery that runs the laptop while a 148 Wh pack powers the displays.

Easily foldable screens

It’s not the most portable gaming laptop the world has seen. Fortunately, Aurora 7’s screens fold or swivel out from the primary chassis. And the entire laptop folds down to 51 x 34 x 11 cm for more convenient transportation. And the entire system weighs a maximum of 10 kg, although rumors have it that the developers are looking for new strategies to reduce the overall weight even further.

Additional specifications to expect

Expanscape wants you to have the best of the best, which is why this prototype gaming laptop includes an Intel Core i9-9900K CUP (up to 5,0 GHz). It’ll also include Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, which is a fantastic component for gaming.

Furthermore, Aurora 7 features 64 GB of RAM, 2.5 TB of SSD storage, and 2 TB of mechanical HDD storage. It also includes three USB 3 ports, a Thunderbolt 3 port, and HDMI.

According to Expanscape’s official website, they set out some specifications that the Aurora 7 prototype must meet. Here are some aspects that are still a work-in-progress:

60–100% achieved:

  • Ability to easily replace parts
  • Rechargeable battery system fully self-contained
  • Weight 10 kg max
  • 4 internal NICs
  • Overall Structural Rigidit
  • Ability to swap wiring and parts with easily attainable parts
  • Easily replaceable batteries
  • 10GB NIC

With these specifications not quite reached, it’s likely that Expanscape has some modifications to make before the official release date.

In the meantime, what are your thoughts? Share your feedback in the comments.
