Today, Microsoft unveiled its latest Surface products during the Microsoft Surface Event 2021, and there’s plenty for Microsoft fans to take in. The announcements included the Surface Pro 8, the Surface Go 3, the Surface Laptop Studio, and even a few new accessories.

Surface Pro 8

The Surface Pro 8 was announced and comes loaded with new features. It’s Microsoft’s best new 2-in-1 and will bring a myriad of tweaks and upgrades to the previous experience. There’s also a new Surface Pen that’s more intuitive and has haptic feedback for greater tactile response.

The Surface Pro 8 will feature a new kickstand and keyboard. It will include Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision with a 120 Hz Refresh rate. The 13-inch PixelSense Flow Display supports adaptive color technology, which Microsoft boasts as being the most advanced display it’s ever built.

It also will work great with Xbox gaming. There’s even a new Surface Pen that works more intuitively and has tactile feedback, and a Surface Pro Signature keyboard.

Surface Go 3

What else did the Microsoft Surface Event 2021 have for us today? The popular and affordable Surface Go is back, and it will use Windows 11 to enhance the user experience.

While it still has the same 10.5-inch display, it has new Intel processors that should boost performance by 60%. Included is a camera that supports Windows Hello facial recognition. It will also feature new family settings that are perfect for kids. All-day battery life and optional LTE connectivity are nice inclusions as well.

Ocean Plastic Mouse

Microsoft introduced another unexpected new product today as well: the Ocean Plastic Mouse. It’s a mouse made from 20% recycled ocean plastic that contributes toward environmental sustainability. Its packaging is 100% recyclable. It will be available along with the rest of the new Surface line.

Surface Slim Pen 2

Microsoft is refreshing the design for the Slim Pen with an all-new Slim Pen 2. It works with all of the new Surface products announced and features a custom Microsoft G6 chip. It’s also capable of haptic feedback that makes writing and drawing feel more natural, not unlike the tactile feeling of putting pen to real paper. Microsoft says it will work particularly well in Adobe Photoshop.

Surface Duo 2

The Surface Duo 2 is here with a slew of new improvements, from cameras to faster refresh rates. There are also welcome enhancements that will help make the Duo 2 more durable and effective.

The new Surface Duo 2 features nanocoated glass with 5.8-inch dual displays and a 90 Hz refresh rate. It has better hinge mechanisms to enhance durability. The new cover magnetically attaches a pen, and a mini side display shows notifications and other information. A new camera array brings a slew of new camera developments, like an ultrawide camera and a 2x telephoto lens. And a custom-built camera app enhances photo taking.

Surface Laptop Studio

Microsoft also announced another new product in the Surface line: the Surface Laptop Studio. It comes packed with enhancements and great features that fans of the Surface line will love—especially those who require a device capable of a more diverse set of tasks.

The Surface Laptop Studio will feature a 14.4-inch PixelSense display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, plus Dolby Vision. It will have a flexible hinge with a new keyboard and touchpad. It will also have three different modes: Laptop, Stage, and Studio. The Stage mode is especially cool, as it lets you pull the display forward for a wide range of activities.

Surface Adaptive Kit

Another new product is the Surface Adaptive Kit. It’s made for people with disabilities and makes a wide range of Microsoft products more accessible. It includes keycap labels, bump labels, device openers, and port indicators. The openers include a pull tab and ring that make it easier to open things like laptop lids or kickstands. It’s nice to see a new effort in making products more accessible for those with disabilities.

The pricing and availability details for the Surface Adaptive Kit are yet to be announced.
