First impressions: MOFT Dynamic Folio Case for iPhone Duo, an iPad idea folded down to pocket size
Apple’s iPhone Duo already opens like a paperback, and MOFT now wants to give that paperback a dust jacket with a kickstand folded inside it. Ask anyone at Gadget Flow, and they’ll confirm I can’t leave a foldable story alone. The MOFT Dynamic Folio Case spent its first life on iPads, and I half expected a Duo edition sooner.
Odd detail, though. You can already buy a Duo version, a $69.99 magnetic Dynamic Folio that snaps to the back and peels off whenever you want it gone. The new case clips on and hugs the edges. iPad owners watched MOFT pull this exact switch before, and their reviews explain why.
The iPad already ran this experiment
MOFT’s first iPad folio skipped the corners altogether. Buyers on MOFT’s own store went from grumbling about bare corners to throwing a small party for the corner guards on the updated model, one review title shouting GREAT in capitals. Duo buyers get to skip the waiting room. The shell covers the back plus the front and rear edges from day one.
A kickstand that only works on a desk isn’t much help when you’re sitting on the sofa or lying in bed. One iPad owner made that point in a complaint about their case. MOFT’s Duo offers portrait and landscape angles, plus Lounge Mode for watching videos while lying down. That’s a feature I can see getting used late at night.

MOFT’s grip trick amuses me most. Another fold turns the cover into a finger hold, a homegrown PopSocket. Folded panels and knuckles don’t always make peace, and nobody outside MOFT has said how the grip feels.
Where my enthusiasm stalls
I wouldn’t expect a phone case to cost more than MOFT’s cover for a 13-inch iPad, but here we are. The Dynamic Folio Case sells for $59, while the Duo asks $89.99. Even the $69.99 magnetic folio costs $20 less. Those clips and extra edge coverage would need to impress me quite a bit.
Navy blue or misty cove with sapphire. That’s the whole palette, after iPad buyers spent most of 2026 asking MOFT for more shades.
MOFT hasn’t said a word about the hinge, and every protection promise so far comes straight from the brand. Thickness worries me more. A foldable wearing a folding cover could turn your jeans pocket into a filing cabinet.
Duo owners who hate holding their phone
You bought a foldable for the bigger screen, and odds are you’d like to watch that screen without gripping it the whole time. People who already prop a phone against a coffee mug on a train tray table should keep an eye on this case. So should anyone nervous about scuffing the Duo’s outer display in a pocket full of keys, because the cover stays over it by default.
My take for now
MOFT Dynamic Folio Case for iPhone Duo
Two years of feedback sound promising, but I wouldn’t take that as a reason to spend $89.99. The Duo seems to address several complaints about MOFT’s iPad folio. What I can’t judge from a product page is how much thicker my phone gets with the case attached. That’s the number I’m waiting for.
