Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 leaks: Please tell me it finally has built-in GPS
The Chipher Project

When I heard about Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 leaks, I honestly pictured it as a screenless fitness band. So many of them have cropped up in 2026 that I thought Samsung might join the fray. Instead, the leaked videos show a fitness tracker that looks pretty similar to the Galaxy Fit 3.

And that disappoints me. I’d like a better reason to get excited about the next fitness band than a few new colors and a slightly larger display. Samsung, please tell me the Galaxy Fit 4 finally has built-in GPS.

The Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 looks awfully familiar…

So, Android Authority obtained 360-degree videos of the Samsung Galaxy Fit 4. They show the device in black, white, and light blue. The tracker has a rectangular display with rounded corners and a physical button on the right side. There’s a silicone strap with a conventional buckle. Even the sensor layout on the back looks unchanged.

Next to the Galaxy Fit 3, which launched in early 2024, I’d have a very hard time telling them apart. Samsung still hasn’t confirmed anything yet. What we know comes from these videos and August documentation tied to model number SM-R391.

Hopefully there’s built-in GPS

Cosmetically, the Fit 4 looks a lot like its predecessor—and that’s fine. I’m just hoping Samsung fixes the Fit line’s biggest flaw: no GPS. Without it, fitness trackers must borrow your phone’s location for outdoor workouts. So if you leave your phone at home, you lose your route.

For runners, cyclists, and anyone who wants minimal gear, that’s a real limitation.

True, Samsung already sells GPS wearables like the Watch9 and Galaxy Ring. But accurate outdoor workout tracking is a core job for a fitness tracker, and I wouldn’t consider it a luxury.

What’s more, a Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 with GPS would give current Galaxy Fit owners a clear reason to upgrade. Because the appeal of a fitness band is its simplicity. Runners don’t want to carry their phone just to track a run. They want their fitness tracker to do it so they can leave their brick of a phone at home.

What else could make the Galaxy Fit 4 worth buying?

Better health and workout tracking

Earlier leaks point to a Goodix GH3036 optical sensor. It’s a low-power module built for heart rate and health monitoring. But we can’t tell how accurate the readings will be or how the health experience improves from a number.

Useful insights on a budget

A fitness tracker—budget or not—should help me make sense of my activity, sleep, and workouts. Clear insights could make the Fit 4 worthwhile even if the outside barely changes, as long as Samsung keeps it affordable.

Should you wait for the Samsung Galaxy Fit 4?

Need basic activity and sleep tracking right now? The Galaxy Fit 3 is still worth considering, especially if you find it discounted. Just know that it only works with Android.

If GPS matters to you, check whether Samsung confirms it. In the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 vs. Galaxy Fit 4 matchup, a leaked design tells us nothing about what’s improved. There’s no word on price or release date yet, so I’m not guessing.

If the Galaxy Fit 4 keeps the familiar design but improves the internals, I’d be apt to recommend it.
