Backers need an HONEST update....why are you so silent. On 4/23 you said "We are planning to make more videos and images instead of messages in the coming days." We have not seen videos or had any Messages...YOLO needs to communicate to it's backers and stop being disrespectful.......

This was my response to Yolo,,,,,
"Yolo,
I am nothing but honest... It is not my responsibility to make sure "Your" feelings don't get "hurt" that is your responsibility. I own a small business and if I deceit my customers I lose them. I believe in your product it is a product most needed, I just do not believe in your business practices. Yolo should be updating it's backers EVERY week no matter what it is you have to say. Your "silence" is deception please be more honest and frequent with communications...

This is the PM I received from YOLO moments after I posted my comment....
"Hey Joseph, Thank you so much for your honest comments, which is a bit hurt, but we're really grateful that you can keep talking with us. And this is one important thing that we valued a lot. I will reply you on the comments section, at the same time show your response to all of our team members so that we can feel what you feel as a supporter. YoloLiv Team"

@JPB27, Thanks for your thoughts, and we are glad that you can speak up and comments here. The negotiation started since the beginning of the Chinese new year, by the moment we still had a big chance to get it delivered on time. There're hundreds of variables in creating a product, but you are right none of those should be our excuse for late shipment. And we will take your feelings as our best motivation to make it on May. Thank you so much!

Buckle up people this is going to be a bumpy ride.... I reached out to YOLO last month for an honest answer about ship date (as I had a live shoot this week) they told me sorry they would not be able to get me my unit for the shoot...But they would be shipping late March. here we are (Late March) with an "Update" according to the cryptic message " End of May would be our best estimate,"...translation, we are not getting our units until late June or July if lucky. Please understand I want this project to be a success I am just worn down with the way most operate with their "estimated" delivery dates. I know most backers will say, well we want them to take their time to get it right...however all of the challenges Yolo is facing with Qualcomm had to have been known for sometime now....I too do not blame the software engineers, or designers...I also do not hold Qualcomm to blame. This has been handled poorly by the ones running this campaign....In the meantime WE the backers sit politely and Wait (longer) until another crumb of an "Update" is bestowed upon us..... IMHO.......

@Marsha Tyszler,
Thank you Marsha, so great to have you as a backer! We searched almost every corner of possible vendors to find a 4k adaptor for Android device in Shenzhen, world center of electronics, but could not find a feasible one. And that part was done on early February that we couldn’t do much about the hardware solution. We will try our best to make YoloBox stable and easy to use. Thank you again!

Review from Kickstarter
@YoloLiv, I realize the struggle — but I guess one concern is seeing your other competitors doing 4K streaming while YoloBox isn’t keeping up, and I know that many people want to get the best possibilities for their money (even when it may be tricky to use in many places). My home WiFi would be able to support the needed high bandwidth because I use Verizon FiOS. In NYC, it’s very easy to get the needed bandwidth from WiFi/Ethernet. Some cellular networks here could support it too. In other parts of the US, it’s trickier to get the needed bandwidth whether we are talking Ethernet/WiFi or cellular. A second concern is for the content creator to be able to preserve the best quality footage that can later be uploaded for watching on YouTube, websites, and other sites that support 4K video watching. That said, I would prefer YoloBox Pro to offer both of the above capabilities while allowing users to choose the stream quality and saving that best suits their needs. At the very least, Pro should be able to save 4K media even if it cannot stream it. But again, as stated above, I worry because there are clearly competing products that offer it — and even though you offer much more features with an easier user experience, anyone considering a Pro model would still want the best footage quality if they’re able to use it. I definitely understand why this is a very tricky decision. The basic YoloBox offering 4K is a bit much — but anyone wanting the Pro will expected the option of streaming and/or saving 4K footage. I only bring it up because I want you guys to make a really smart decision that’ll help sell units and build a community around YoloBox. If I didn’t feel so strongly, I’d stay quiet, lol! ;-)

Thank You for your answer! One more question
Does the YoloBox support 1080p/25/50?My production is based in Europe and 30/60 is not very suitable here.

Review from Kickstarter
@Vitaly it will support 1080p at 30frames; It will come with one SD card slot and a Sim card slot, so yes, you can record with it; The housing will be closed, and we probably will find a external battery cell so that you can purchase on at your need. Thanks!

Hi, YoloLiv Team!
Can you publish detailed tech specifications of final product you planning to ship? Do it really can stream in 4K with ideal network? Is it possible to stream 1080p and record 1080p simultaneously? What format and bitrates do you planning for recordings? Do you plan to leave SIM slot? (some troubles in sertification may occur) Do you plan to make the housing closed or with cover ( to change battery for example)?

@Xavier, Good catch! we had our first ground test during CES with one of the prototype. The sounds was indeed awful! The problem are mainly due to USB port we used on the prototype. Other than this the prototype worked well using Wifi and Ethernet, despite the horrible internet service provided by CES host.

hello Yololiv team,
yesterday night i watched your youtube livestreaming from CES 2018
the broadcasting was correct but the sound was awful constantly stuttering, i don't know if this is deliberate but it would be cool if you keep livestreaming the event, in a dynamic way (walking with the setup) if possible. Anyway i keep faith in your work. and im proud to be a part of an hopefully succesful adventure.
Peace

@Marsha @Kokobin, Thank you for bringing up this great topic! Not just you two, we are also struggling and arguing about the 4K. Live stream 4k video requires very restrict objective condition than people normally think. First, it requires very high speed and stable network. For example, stream 4k at 30 frame would require 35-45Mbps stable upload speed. But average upload speed of Broadband in US is around 25-27Mbps, it's not good enough even if you only use Ethernet. No need to say 4G/ Wifi solution. Second, it will be a data shark, stream one hour of 4k will be around 15G data (We use 35Mbps bitrate here). We want to make full HD live stream easy to use and affordable, and meanwhile it can be used for various outdoor scenarios. Here's one of very popular solution people used: www.vmix.com/4k-live-streaming/. But we will not stop working on that, 4K, Auto edit and more good things are on the way.
We can stream VR, 360 content as long as 1, the camera has a HDMI output. 2, The platform you stream to supports those two. Thank you so much!

@kokobin, I’m disappointed that they didn’t answer yet too. I’d understand if the basic YB didn’t support 4K out of the gate, but the Pro version should unquestionably support specs that professionals (or wannabes, lol) would be using and require. The Pro should get spec upgrades that the basic doesn’t offer beyond PIP and the use of two cams. 4K is one such thing, and I already have a growing wishlist of other hardware and software upgrades that would make sense for a Pro product around YB Pro’s price point. A lack of pro features in the Pro may explain why this campaign didn’t do as well as I would have expected beyond the funding goal. I admittedly hesitated for a lack of 4K support alone — and where two of us felt that way, many more likely did too. Don’t get me wrong because YB offers a lot of ease and is wonderful as-is — but people will expect more, especially at the eventual MSRP.

The lack of an answer or an apparent solution to the 4K problem leaves me no option but to reconsider my pledge. I have a 4K setup and workflow. How do i integrate Yolo Plus?

Review from Kickstarter
What are the chances that you guys could support 4K video at some point? Many viewers already use devices that support SHD and want to view the best quality stream. Also, is it possible to stream using 360 degree and 3D cams for VR experiences? Wishing you an early congrats on getting funded! I hope you’ll still try to make some of those stretch goal features happen!

@Gnesco, not only can YoloBox Plus capture from DSLR and Drone at the same time, but also switch the main image with just a click. For the auto edit function, we have a specific AI group working on that, you can expect it some time next year even if it’s not ready at the time first batch delivered. Theoretically, YoloBox can capture from any video source from, if your camera supports HDMI output. Can’t wait to see you broadcast a drone race!

Hi YoloLiv Team, The main feature, which will help me immensely is being able to live stream from 2 or more different camera set ups. I'm excited to be able to live stream from my main mirror-less DSLR and from a drone camera at the same time. Another feature that I'm very much looking for is the ability to store or capture moments from the live stream and use it as a highlight video to post to social media platforms. Having the ability to highlight certain parts and automatically create a highlight video would be an amazing feature as this saves time and eliminate the need to either download the live stream later and spend hours editing. Will it be possible to live stream from any cameras or cameras using FPV video frequencies? i.e. for racing drones? I look forward to your reply.

@Louis
1, If Wifi are used for hotspot, it only supports one at a time.
2, No, even through it could work with three cameras like you said, but it will very unstable. Also the OS will only cary two video sources.
3, One HDMI cable, a mount shoe, charger.
4, It does.
5, Yes, but we need test more and will update in the future.
6, It will be exactly how it works.
7, Yes
8, Jpg, png
9, It depends on the HDMI cable not our product.
10, On our platform you can preset Logo, image, or even a video to the beginning and end of the Live event. And we also have a cloud editing that supports many effects. It works well in here in Asia, but takes time to set all up in US market. Once ready, it will be just a simple upgrade for you. Let me know if you have more questions.

Several questions:
1) Can you we have 2 cameras both linked to wifi to the box? or only 1 camera can be linked by wifi?
2) 1 or 2 cameras linked to the box + also stream via Wifi. So up to 3 wifi connections? is that possible, please explain/confirm?
3) what's in the box? with cables or not?
4) Does PIP work in the 4 corners ?
5) Can the PIP rectangle be resized?
6) Are you planning a feature that I think interesting for interviews with 2 people: Guest is seen full frame and Host is in PIP, then with 1 button we can switch this so the Host is full frame and the Guest is in PIP. This to be done with a press of 1 button.
7) Can we have an overlay logo + the PIP functionality at the same time? (not in the same corner of course)
8) What files are possible for the image overlay? jpg, png,gif ... ? with transparency working?
9) Is there a length max to the HDMI cables, like if the person controlling the box must be 20m away from the cameras.
10) Do you consider a feature to fade in and fadeout from black to start or end a streaming? or from an 1920*1080 image, so this means we could fade a large logo/image from a show towards the streaming and and the end, perhaps end on the same image or another one containing for example credits or a link to a website (we would just write text on the image of course)
Thanks.

@Stefan, It depends on the bitrate. If we use 3000kb/second (375KB/s) for 1080p streaming, it will be 1.28G per hour. And 3000kb/second can stream perfect 1080p video with YoloBox. According to our clients, you will get cheaper plan from your carrier if you use more data monthly.
