Ventila Backpack Ventilation Fan

Editor's Rating
4.9?
Discovered on 2017-09-29

Stay nice and cool on all of your journeys with the Ventila Backpack Ventilation Fan. Compact and effective, this fan rids of the always dreaded back sweat from carrying your bag. The Ventila is totally minimalist to work with virtually any bag. Securing in place along the bottom of your bag, the Ventila is also invisible while you’re wearing your bag. Inside this handy device is a powerful DC blower. This pushes the air between you and your bag to allow the hot air to escape and, thus, keep you cool. The shape of the Ventila is designed to conform gently to your bag for all day use. In addition, the magnetic attachment system means you can swap it from bag to bag with ease. It’s also small enough to store away easily when not in use. With variable fan speeds, you can always feel relief with the Ventila.

Will we be notified when this ships? Perhaps with a tracking number or something similar? I'm backer # 69 for the Super Early Bird Pro, and am just wondering when I should begin keeping an eye out for a package...

Thank you so much for your comment. First of all we are afraid we don't agree to your view that backpacks with thin back panel materials don't need a fan. As you can see there are backpacks with different types of air flow channels or mesh back panels on the market. The difference between our product and them is we want to solve this problem more effectively or with a controllable and more advanced method.
Regarding the thick padding of the larger backpacks, you are right they have thicker padding on the backs. However, fortunately we find most of their back panels are still flat no matter what their sizes are and whether they have hipbelts or not. We agree that there are still a few backpacks which feature special hipbelts and may not fit our fans. So our 'Golden rule' for making a judgement is: as log as you can find a flat area of about 190mm(L)x80mm(W) /7.5"x3.1", that is the size of our fan, on the lumbar region of your backpack's back panel, it should be no problem for you to mount our fan snugly with the magnetic attachment system.
Thanks again for raising this question and your continued support.

I am concerned with the proposed changes to the magnetic hinging system keeping the unit locked to a backpack. As you know, many larger backpacks for weekend trips and the like have thicker padding on the back for comfort. Will the units still be able to lock in place to these? If not, it seems though these would only be good for thin material backpacks which don't need a fan to begin with.

Thanks for your inquiry. This is due to the reason that we closed this reward tier after we found a mistake in the reward price. The price of your reward was lower than the actual price but we won't change anything and will fulfill these rewards. So please enjoy the offer. Thanks again for your early support.

@Kelvin Concerning the replacement problem of the built-in rechargeable batteries in our fan, we have talked to our battery supplier and found that the batteries should remain nonreplaceable. The major reason is it may not be possible for you to find the same batteries(in terms of size) from the market. Also they assured that their batteries can be discharged/recharged near 1000 times and we think their life is long enough.

@ Kelvin Thanks for your support. This is a good question. The rubber case of our fan can be open up to access the batteries. But currently they are not removable. So we may need to redesign the holding and the wire connection methods if we want to make them replaceable. We'll discuss it with our battery supplier and let you know what we find later this week.
4x AA batteries can power up our fan but they need to be connected to a USB output port first so that our fan control cable can be used.

Regarding built in batteries in the pro version product, when after using over a course of time the rechargeable battery "wears" out, can you replace them or start using 4xAA batteries like the non pro version?

@Philip Thank you so much for your support and valuable comments. We find normally most of these large backpacks feature a pair of large and heavily padded hipbelts on their back panels. And when they are worn, the space between them and the wearers' lower back will be fully occupied by the hipbelts. So there may not be enough room for our fan to "hide" inside.

@Maria Thank you for backing us again. And we appreciate your enthusiasm for our project. Regarding the magnets, we will use two large rare earth magnets, which are the strongest type in the market. Besides, we will add a small mechanism to strengthen the attachment as well. So it is double protected.

What about using on bigger backpacks? Thinking 70l bags or so?

Returning backer here, good to see you again. You should definitely show us how powerful the magnets are, won't it slide off when running for example?
