Be. Battery-Free Electronic Toothbrush

Editor's Rating
4.7?
Discovered on 2017-12-28

Put a spin on your brushing with the Be. Battery-Free Electronic Toothbrush. Eco-friendly and kind to your wallet, this toothbrush gets its power from you. Quite simply, the Be. Toothbrush uses kinetic energy to power the toothbrush. At the base is a sleek and ergonomic knob. All you have to do is twist. Much like a wind-up toy, the Be. Toothbrush requires two full twists to give you 80,000 brush strokes. In addition, the head uses a pressure sensor to give you the optimal clean while still being gentle. The Be. Toothbrush doesn’t just save on energy. It’s also totally sustainable and made from 100% recyclable materials. Even the brushes are biodegradable. Speaking of, the Binchotan bristles are the perfect density for scrubbing your teeth until they’re pearly white.

How about a monthly about guys? Can we expect that? Recent Kickstarter scams making me worried with campaign with so much success, like yours.

@Renat, the rewards are not due until December. All of us backers have 7 months at least to wait. Check your pledge, it will state the ETA.

Hi, thanks for the update and making the twist part more prominent with nice modern design. My concern about this is mould. I have owned and used a number of Oral-B electric toothbrushes and no matter how much i clean and dry them after each use, mould will eventually start to form on the rubber texturised grip areas where there are patterns. Will this be an issue because I absolutely hate it when mould starts to form and it's so hard to get rid of it. Any thoughts? thanks

@Keith Dadson : Be. will be waterproof, but there are different certifications for waterproofing, and since there are no electronics inside to protect, we do not need Be. to be IPX67 rated. That being said, it will be waterproof, and most likely to that standard, but just not certified as such, because there is no need.

@kevin : Different brush head information and options can be viewed in update #2. International backers will be sent 1 refill pack of regular brushes per/Be. and then have the option to choose what free pack they would like via the survey that has been sent out. Here is the link just in case you missed that survey : https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FQ8KTWW

Well they should have a good update hope there won't be silence till a week before December then they say oh we're running behind schedule :-/

Agreed, I would assume it is waterproof, as I had said previously, but I haven't seen it specifically mentioned so I thought it best to clarify. Yes, my plastic Sonicare (and every other toothbrush I've ever used) is waterproof, but the Be. is specifically made out of different materials so I want to make sure it will survive daily showers for at least a few years without affecting the mechanism

Should expect it to be waterproof what good is a toothbrush if it's not waterproof. Even my old cheapo sonicare is.

@creator Thanks for the update! Considering where you are in the process, I guess I should reword my question: are you planning on designing Be. to be waterproof?

Hi, don't know if this was asked and addressed prevously, but I can't seem to find an answer. Is the Be. waterproof? I would assume so, but just wanted to ask...

It's also worth reminding people who need to fill out the survey where they can find their backer number, as again that's not immediately obvious (you go to the campaign on kickstarter, click View Pledge and scroll to the bottom - maybe it's also in emails received by backers but I didn't check). But for as little friction as possible, why not include that info in the survey, to save some inevitable FAQs? Anyway thanks for treating your European backers well :)

It's not a great idea to assume that all your backers will have read, let alone memorized every single update of your campaign :-) If you send a mail out referencing info only present in an update, please at least include a link to that update. Thanks!

Hey GoodWell Co. I sent an email to the address provided in the comments a little over a week ago; haven't received anything back in response to a couple of questions. I'm guessing it has to to do with the holiday season; totally understandable. Do we have an estimated time of when we will hear back, though? Thanks!

@Ka Po Wong, where in the world did you think you'll get this in Dec of 2017? The campaign ended on Dec 10th, but if you paid attention when you chose your pledge level, it states ETA December, 2018. No Kickstarter project that I've ever backed would ship in the same month that the campaign ended, especially considered nothing has been produced yet. You are not ordering an item on some internet shopping site. Kickstarter is a place where people ask for support to be able to start up a project and afterwards once the rewards are produced, they would be shipped out. We are pretty much getting the 1st generation of a future product. But until the campaign has ended and KS takes their cut, the creator has to wait several weeks to a month before the funds are released to them so they can start the arduous steps of production.
