The Crushed Bowls by Muuto are porcelain bowls designed by the Copenhagen-based firm JDS Architects. The firm, founded by famed architect Julien De Smedt, has come up some of the most brilliant and innovative designs of this era. One of them is this Crushed Bowl concept that applies the methods used for large-scale architecture on a small object. It’s a delightful combination of geometric shapes and artistic sensibilities. Julien explains that they came up with the bowl by adding human ergonomics and aesthetics to the equilateral triangles and principles used in large-scale computer modeling. Maybe that means squat to you, but the point is that these bowls are out of this world beautiful and will add an artsy touch to an otherwise ordinary tabletop.
