Well done. Best of luck fulfilling these pledges!
@William we added NZ so should appear. If not please add AUS and we will ship once you fill in your address on the backer survey. Thanks!
William YIP
Hello, can New Zealand be added to the list? we are just next to Australia :)
@Travis. The size of the strap was very important in this build as this needs to stand hours of tension and moving around but think we've now got this right. In terms of a Guarantee we can only offer 30 day money back guarantee if you change your mind. However if the mask has been used there will be small fee to replace the eye piece as this is a very personal item. Thanks for the Support! @Jonathan Welcome aboard! We have already tooled the majority of the electronics post EVT and DVT as we've been in process for 18 months bootstrapped by ourselves. We are 99% certain to ship by April. We will be making our order with the day after the campaign ends and will be updating everyone along the way on our blog and updates. We have already done a small run of 50 units which we sent to press. @Devin. The drivers are the thinnest possible speakers you can buy at this sound quality at just 11mm. The foams are x3 as thick ensuring you will not feel the driver as a side sleeper. This was our biggest pain point to fix. Thanks for the support!
Devin Williams
How thick are the speaker units? I watched the review on your campaign page and they looked very tall/thick.
Jonathan F
Ok I am in! Where are you at with production on this and how confident are you in your delivery date of April 2018?
Travis Robinson
My main concern is about the strap build and guarantee. Most of the masks I've purchased over the years end up wearing out from the strap that fits around my head. I like that your product seems to have a large strap, so I assume it would withstand many nights of sleep and avoid slipping off. Just wanted your opinions on this
@GTimmerman - Yes you can connect any sound source you like via Bluetooth to audio cable. Thanks for the support!
@ErBoProxy - Thank you for the support. To be crystal clear the unit is noise isolating and not officially noise cancelling (as per some press) but it's isolation properties are awesome. When you have sound on like white noise it's hard to hear much else but it's important some sound comes through in case of outside events. When the unit is switched off I'd say it's a little stronger than most headphones and the cocooning effects does wonders. The headset is thin enough to lay on as a side sleeper which is part of the reason we made the product. We are nappers who couldn't find a product to lay on! The content is a training programme that will help you switch off and sleep from beginner and upwards. Hope that helps!

Will you be able to use Apple Music ?
Hello, I’m interested in the headset for its noise cancelling capability and its thinner design for wearing it during the night. I currently have a Bose QuietComfort headset I use all the time at work and, despite its price tag, it’s great. However, it’s not something you can really wear while asleep and, as a side-sleeper, it’s even worse. I’m currently using plain regular earplugs, but the noise cancellation is not really that great and you always lose them during the night anyways. Light doesn't bother me that much, but unwanted noises are a big problem. I’m aware the SilentMode does not have an on/off switch for noise cancellation. However, how does it fare in its ”default” mode (no music, no app) ? Is the passive noise cancellation comparable to what the Bose QC headset offers in its ”off” mode? How good does it blocks low-bass style sounds? How thin the headset and the memory foam is? Is the headset and the speakers noticeable if you’re a side-sleeper? Does the app features programs to help you ”getting started” and making you asleep? The auto-disconnect option mentioned below is interesting. Sorry for all those questions. I’m really looking forward if this headset is the solution I’ve been waiting for my sleeping problems
@Wolhert. Yes we have the option of minijack connector so you don't have to use Bluetooth. We have an alarm system through our app that will alert through the device but you can also hear through the isolation when the unit is turned off for that exact reason. As long as the signal via the phone is activated the unit will stay powered. This is something we can look at via the app maybe for auto disconnect option. Regarding the eye cover our whole company exists to help people switch off and get away from screens and distractions. Allowing a visual version would go against our principle but you can easily just lift the unit like a normal eye mask. Hope that helps!
@AnnceCWind We use a verified Kickstarter partner survey. Can you email me at and I can confirm. Thanks.
I would use it to fell asleep in my bed, so I have a few questions:
Is it possible to connect it to a phone via cable instead of bluetooth?
I need to hear my alert in the morning, does it provide transmitting it?
Can I hear the alert through the memory foam (I would also like to hear whats happening around me when there is no music on, in case of something important happening)?
Do you plan that it turns off automatically after a specific time without audio signal (I have a timer that stops the music after 30min because I dont need the music after felt asleep and I want to hear if something happens around me)?
How about magnetic eyecover, so we could take it off to see something without taking off the rest? (could be a huge advantage)
Are you planning on using the Kickstarter reward surveys to collect information? As a Superbacker I have been disturbed by the practice of Creators using external surveys that then ask for an additional payment for the Backer reward because of the Creator's unexpected expenses. These same surveys also offer "add-ons" and other products. Kickstarter is not a retail space. I don't appreciate Backers that treat it as one. Since I have yet to come across this practice with a Creator that uses the reward survey system provided by Kickstarter, I've recently decided to only back Creators that plan on using it. Therefore, please let me know your plans for Backer reward surveys. Thank you.
@Jovi Already done. Indonesia open. Let us know for any issues. Thanks!
Hi Jovi, we will open up. Thanks!
jovi fergie
@creator. could you add indonesia to shipping list?

@silentmode: Thank you make sense. Really looking forward to try it out.
@spisey (Love the name) the battery is 24 hours on a single, full charge. It will cover any long distance flight in the world (or mammoth sleep session). Thanks!
@Leon. Actually we spent 18 months putting our own money into production. We worked 5am starts and weekends outside of our 9/5 jobs to prove the product could be built in the way we wanted before asking for anyone else's money. We have built the product so it's ready to manufacture with our partners. If you are not happy with the quality when you receive, we are happy to provide a 30 day refund. Hope that helps!
Spisey McHaggis
How long does a charge last? I haven’t been able to find this info.

Hello Guys, What's the mechanism behind your statement: We stand behind the build quality of both ourselves and our partners. Silentmode comes with a 30 day (from the date of shipping) 100% money back guarantee. This is the first time I see a creator claiming that they have a 30 days guarantee. They usually say: Sorry all your money went to production. Can you please elaborate a bit more about how you can keep that promise in real life? Thanks
@Andrew - As someone who was travelling a lot I also used the Bose however I couldn't lay comfortably on them, that's one of the issues we wanted to fix. Our passive noise solution is very strong, especially when the unit is on and playing audio. You won't be disappointed and there is also a 100% money back guarantee if you aren't satisfied.
I'm currently using the BOSE noise cancelling headphone when I travel.. Does silentmode provide half the efficiency? I don't expect the same standard since I'm paying 399euros for the BOSE..
@Andrew. Yes exactly the same as any high quality Bluetooth headphone. Thanks!
Can I stream my Spotify song into the Silentmode?
@Scott Thanks for your comments. While we only focus on Napping specifically we do personally sleep with the device ourselves and some of our others users do. Especially when travelling. The Bamboo cotton and cush materials are breathable and the movement means there is air.
Scott Horst
Can’t wait to get mine, I was curious how it will work for long term sleeping. I can sleep through a lot but I work nights so sun even through the cracks of the curtains bugs me or walking in the other room to get a drink it’s like once I see the sun I wake up. Reason I ask is really plush eye masks can cut off air to your eyes and cause vision problems. How is that being addressed? I know you say it’s breathable but most of what I’ve seen is for napping not full time sleep.
@Peter. This was our main pain point to fix. Travelling with headphones was uncomfortable so we have built a memory foam solution that is the right kind of density wherever you are. Can't wait for you to try!
Peter Hassard
Hi Silentmode, I am a bit worried I'll have a "princess and the pea" moment. Can you guarantee you won't be able to feel the speaker thorogh the headband? as I imagine that would be extremely uncomfortable? haha
Thanks for fast reply, cant wait to try it out.
@Lukas. And sorry yes, we will discount original backers. Thanks for the support.
@Lukas. Exactly that and exactly the reason we have made it this way. We have lot's in store for you guys. I'm excited to show you some of the collaborations coming up in the future. Our long term goal is to be the BOSE of napping/switching off.
So as you said that its modular many times, will there be option in future to just get just modul for active noise cancellation in future when its ready? Or some bonus like better price in next
campaign for backers of v1.
@Dan. Thanks for the comments. Firstly you will be surprised at how strong the passive noise cancellation is, Especially when you hear our frequency mapping. If you watch the Gary Vaynerchuk video above, you will see all the user's in an incredibly loud environment and they are completely switched off. We are working in the background on active version but traditional real time polarisation through external microphones is expensive for the end user and we want to provide a new algorithm based solution which is not $400+. This is in the works. However this is new tech and we don't want to make promises we can't keep to our backers. This is likely to launch next year all things being well. 2. The battery is modular. In fact all parts of Silentmode are modular so they can be replaced if needs be. 3. At this stage it's dry clean only non water but again this is modular so can be updated or replaced in due time. In order to deliver maximum comfort, we needed to stick with a variety of dense memory foams. Thanks!
@SilentMode - Great product but I agree it really needs active noise cancellation (with the ability to turn it on or off) - if your momentum continues please consider adding it as a stretch goal. Many audio chips provide ANC support. Also I'd appreciate if you could answer two questions:
1) Is the battery a standard type and is it user replaceable? No one wants to throw out a perfectly good product just because the battery reaches it's inevitable end of life.
2) Regarding washing, the FAQ says: "The Eye piece is modular, removable and dry clean" - please elaborate - do you mean wash and air dry or do you really mean dry clean (as in take to a dry cleaning store where they use chemicals to clean instead of water)?
@Midhun, Please be aware for India shipping express services can come with a 55% Tax leverage. We can open postal shipping for you but this risk of delivery is incurred. Thanks
Midhun Sreekumar Menon
@creator Could you please add India to shipping list??
You are already reached funded, cant you add noise cancelling waves to v1 as stretch goal? It wuld be realy nice thing to have.
Best of luck Tobi!
@Citiboy - We've just added that for you!
@Manny - Many of our users are suing Silentmode to sleep yes. Our space is napping but there is nothing stopping you from sleeping with the device. Check out the testimonial from Rachel above one of our beta users. Thanks for the support!
@Gavin Chung + @Jean-Philippe Encausse - Silentmode represents both audio and visual black out. Our passive noise cancellation it lovely to experience. Check out some of the testimonials above. We also have an active noise cancellation in the pipeline but we need to deliver v1 first. You won't be disappointed and there's a 100% money back guarantee. Thanks for the support!

@Silentmode- Is it possible to incorporate a lucid dreaming cue with this device? I'm guessing it's just made for naps, and not all night sleep.
I am in Thailand. Is it possible for your to add Thailand into your list?
So can you wear this thing all night or no? Just curious.
Nick Giordano
Is sleepmode alarm compatible? Via option on sleepmode app, or phone alarm?
Jean-Philippe Encausse
+1 Gavin Chung If your speaker can simply make noise cancelling waves like Bose products, this would truly be revolutionary. True blackout at any location.
Glen Gilmore
❤️ the elegant-looking design of SILENTMODE. Nice product for business travelers. As a serious power napper, I imagine it would be a nice device to have. Good luck!
