Bring history to life with the Colchester Rubber Co. World’s First Basketball Sneakers. The original design for this pair of kicks is thought to have been created for Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of basketball. However, before the inventor’s shoe design could come to life, the factory closed. Enter Kickstown. Taking this original 125-year-old design, the Basketball Sneakers have a modern upgrade. However, they retain their classic style. The Basketball Sneakers come in both High Top and Low Top versions. Honoring the history of the sneaker, the Basketball Sneakers feature intricate Victorian stitching and a rigid toe bumper. They also feature the Colchester crown emblem on the ankle and an illustration of Dr. Naismith on the interior of the tongue. Offering comfort as well as style, the Basketball Sneakers are practical for everyday wear and style and are available in original deadgrass (tan), coal black, and navy.
