This tiny GaN adapter can charge three devices at the same time

You thought of a great idea for your latest project and want to save it as a document. But the worst has happened: your laptop, phone, and tablet are all low on battery. Wouldn’t it be great if there were an easier way to keep all of your devices charged and ready for whenever inspiration strikes?

When all of your devices are out of juice, the CIO 65W GaN adapter can help. This tiny charger has two USB-C ports that deliver 65W and one USB-A port for quick or regular charging. You can use all three ports simultaneously to charge three devices. This way, you won’t have to worry about having enough juice—or losing that idea—again. Plus, its compact size and clever design make it the perfect charger to take with you everywhere.

Gallium Nitride powers the CIO

The CIO’s adapter uses Gallium Nitride (GaN), a next-generation semiconductor technology. Rumor has it that GaN may displace silicon semiconductors in power conversion. In any case, GaN is what makes it possible for the CIO to be so compact and contain multiple ports. A tiny, powerful charger with three ports? Sign us up!

This tiny charger can power a Macbook Pro

The CIO boasts a 65W output. So it provides incredibly high power, just like current AC adapters. This means that it can charge your Macbook Pro to 50% power in only 39 minutes. It can also charge a PC laptop, Nintendo Switch, iPhone XS, and Android phone at maximum speed. It’s impressive that such a tiny charger can power a laptop so quickly.

A charger that can fit in your shirt pocket

Speaking of size, the CIO measures 2.6 by 1.6 by 1.18 inches or half the size of a credit card. A GaN (Navitas NV6115) chip makes this possible. At such a small size, this GaN charger can fit in a shirt pocket or the side pocket of a bag. That’s a far cry from the typical AC adapter and cord. It’s also unbelievably lightweight—just four ounces. At that weight, you won’t know it’s in your laptop bag and will have plenty of space for other items. It’s the perfect power companion for busy students, professionals, and anyone who has a lot of things they need to carry every day.

Simultaneous charging for three devices

And while you’re charging your Macbook Pro, we’re sure you’d like to charge your iPhone and tablet too. With this compact charger, you’re in luck. The CIO boasts two USB Type-C ports and one USB Type-A port. This means that you can use the ports to charge all three devices at the same time. So, the next time you have that great idea for your blog, business, or school project, it will be easy to have all of your devices charged and ready. Also, if you need to head to a coffee shop work session, you won’t have to lug all of your chargers and adaptors in your backpack. This GaN adapter combines three chargers in one and can help whenever multiple devices need a charge.

The CIO can fit in your shirt pocket

The CIO is small and compact. This is made possible by a GaN (Navitas NV6115) chip, which makes the charger incredibly compact, power efficient, and heat resistant. Half the size of the Apple adapter (which, by the way, has only a 61W output), the CIO is easy for you to take everywhere. It’s incredible that such a small device can provide so much power to so many devices. It’s the perfect power companion for busy students, professionals, and anyone with more than one device they’d like to keep charged.

This compact charger fits on your power strip

Ever need to charge a device quickly, only to realize that your power strip only has one available outlet and your charger is too wide to fit with the other plugs? The CIO’s long design helps you avoid that problem. Its width is 30 mm, which is well within the standard 33.8 mm that separates outlets on the typical power strip. Really, this is a charger whose makers have thought of everything.

The USB-A port supports Quick Charge 4.0

Another great feature of this GaN adapter is that its USB-A port supports Quick Charge 4.0 up to 30W. Even though the number of devices that are USB-C compatible devices is increasing, USB-A is still out there. Since USB-A is compatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0, it’s still a convenient choice for many people. We all want our devices to charge faster.

A unique design that’s practical

Another cool design feature of CIO is the little dent on its side. The dent lets the charger fit in your hand so that you can remove it from the outlet easily. You won’t have to pull and tug at the CIO multiple times before it comes out of the socket. Also, the edges are chamfered which means that its right angles have a small cut-out to prevent it from damaging other devices in your bag. It’s a convenient, well-designed gadget.

Simple and stylish color options

The CIO comes in two simple and stylish colors: white and black. It’s a tech accessory that will match all of your devices, no matter if you prefer airy white or classic black.

What we love about this tiny charger

We love that this tiny adapter can provide a whopping 65-watt charge and power three devices at the same time while being smaller than a credit card. We also love the clever long design and hand dent that make this device easy to use and travel with.

What we would love to see

A few multiport chargers on the market these days also support wireless charging. If the CIO also included this option, that would make this GaN adapter even more versatile, especially for Apple products.

Where to buy the CIO?

The CIO costs $40. You can preorder it on Indiegogo.com.
