Blossom is a smart watering system designed for both indoor and outdoor watering plans. It works by using weather intelligence to gather data from a variety of forecast services and makes adjustments for an extremely precise watering plan – all automatically. This means you can sit back and relax as your yard gets all the hydration it needs without drying up the world’s resources.

With the dedicated app, available for both iOS and Android, you have a number of options for your yard. You’re able to set customized schedules based on what you think your yard needs or, by relying on the weather intelligence system, you can tell Blossom which plants you have and it’ll adjust the settings automatically through a set of algorithms. These algorithms are constantly fine-tuned and updated as Blossom is connected to a cloud infrastructure. This means that with a particularly rainy week, Blossom will pull back the amount of water used at your home without human intervention.

Additionally, with the app, you’re able to set up to 12 zones each with their own watering plan. So, if your rose bush requires less water than your hydrangeas, simply set your zones and let Blossom do the work. With the ability to connect via Wi-Fi and Powerline, Blossom is connected with nearly limitless range.

The designers of Blossom are very clear that the device is designed for the user. It’s easy to install with just a couple steps (essentially just mounting it to the wall and connecting it to the app). Coming in the box is the controller (the brains), the bridge (to connect to the internet), and the app with clear controls for the easiest setup.

The aesthetic of Blossom is quite muted; coming in matte graphite and a sprinkler-looking LED system, it can be mounted to just about any wall inconspicuously. It’s only 8.75 by 8.75 inches and just 2.26 inches deep. Weighing just less than 4.5 pounds, it won’t weigh down the fittings. In addition, it can function in 0°F to 130°F, perfect for any American climate.

Admittedly, the Blossom team say that it’s quite similar to other devices on the market. It’s in the in same price range with a lot of the same features as other watering systems such as Skydrop. However, Blossom is the only one that can be used both indoors and outdoors with the same seamless technology and app.

In the future and with their excess funding of $70k on Kickstarter, the team plan to add IFTTT features along with multi-user and multi-controller capabilities. With these options, users will be able to water just about anything with an incredible range of settings.
