LG’s 2021 soundbar lineup adjusts the audio settings based on the content you’re watching
When it comes to soundbars, audio quality is everything. That's why LG's 2021 Soundbar Lineup features Meridian Horizon technology and Meridian Audio tuning for an exceptional sound that you'll become immersed in. The collection includes five models that you'll love: SP11RA, SP9YA, SP8YA, SP7Y, and SPD7Y. Explore what to expect from this collection in today's blog.
Smart TVs are a great way of becoming immersed in your favorite shows. But you’ll need a high-quality audio system to complement the visuals. The LG 2021 soundbar lineup features advanced technology to tailor the audio based on the room size, acoustics, and content’s genre.
AI Sound Pro adjusts the audio quality based on what you’re watching
All five models are equipped with AI Sound Pro—a technology that uses adaptive sound control to automatically adjust sound field extension and frequency range based on the genre. So the news, music, or films will each have their own audio settings.
LG went a step further with another technology: AI Room Calibration. This feature offers optimal sound in all environments. Using spatial awareness technology to measure a room’s dimensions, the soundbars can then customize the audio settings based on the characteristics of the space. Because you don’t always want the sound quality to sound the same in a large, echoey living room compared to a petite bedroom. However, this technology isn’t present in the SP7Y and SPD7Y models (which we anticipate will be the brand’s least expensive options).
Moreover, all models feature Meridian Audio tuning and Meridian technology. This audio feature enhances the feeling and quality of songs in Music Mode to deliver, as LG says, an “exceptionally authentic listening experience”. Plus, LG’s new feature, Meridian Horizon technology, uses two-channel stereo content into multichannel audio. This makes it feel as though the audio is being directed to you, regardless of your position in the room.
Included with all models of the 2021 soundbar lineup is Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for three-dimensional audio. Also, with Dolby Vision compatible via 4K pass-through, each soundbar fires up the picture quality, too. Therefore, you’ll experience a truly cinematic experience from the comfort of your home.
Hi-Res Audio certified models
Additionally, many of the soundbar models are Hi-Res Audio certified. This means that they provide lossless playback at 96 kHz with all the vibrancy of the original recordings. With HDMI eARC, you’ll receive easy connectivity for high-resolution content—all with one cable.
Finally, the soundbars are compatible with voice assistants including Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Siri. Plus, with Apple AirPlay 2, you can stream, control, and share your music directly from your device.
In summary, the 2021 soundbar lineup will start rolling out this month, according to the official press release. There’s no price released as of yet. Are you excited about this launch? Let us know in the comments.
