Tap Your Way to a Smart Home with the Knocki Gesture Detecting Device

“All the world’s a stage,” Jacques of Shakespeare’s As You Like It said. The creators of Knocki have taken this phrase and applied it to technology. Except, instead of a stage, the whole world around you can be your remote to control your devices.

Knocki is a super smart device that turns surfaces all around you into smart remote controls. With an easy set up, you can simply tap your desk or your wall to control everything from the lights in the room to the stereo (and so much more).

Knocki

The unique technology of Knocki, currently patent-pending, can sense and detect touch gestures on virtually any surface. A special mount on the bottom of this intelligent device features SurfaceLink technology. Securing to your chosen surface with 3M removable tape, or with the included screws, SurfaceLink creates a steady connection between Knocki and the surface for a smooth transmission of gesture detection.

Knocki

Knocki then connects to your Wi-Fi network and uses a companion app on your smartphone or tablet to link to devices and accounts in your home. Knocki is able to store up to ten unique gestures to trigger each action. Once setup is complete, Knocki retains the Wi-Fi connection to function even when your phone is turned off or out of range.

Knocki remote control smart device

With Knocki, your ever day actions get a whole lot easier. Instead of searching for your remote or getting up and going across the room, you can choose to set gestures to control your lights, snooze your alarm, start brewing a pot of coffee, control the temperature, and much, much more. You can also put a Knocki in each room of your house to turn it into an automated smart home. Because it works out of the box and utilises a Wi-Fi connection, Knocki can even work with devices that aren’t smart enabled.

Knocki

The clever SurfaceLink technology also allows you to transform any surface. You can leave Knocki in plain sight on your desk to always be handy or keep Knocki hidden behind a door or under a table. Wherever you put it, Knocki is always on and always ready.

Knocki

Currently on Kickstarter, Knocki already works seamlessly with loads of your favourite apps including Spotify, WEMO, Nest, Facebook, Twitter, and more. With a goal of $35k, the Knocki team have knocked it out of the park with over $420k in funding and counting. The campaign ends on July 2nd and, if you act fast, you can still reserve your own Knocki with the early bird pricing of just $79.
