5 Mac keyboards you’ve got to see

Whether it’s typing an email or a blog, our typing needs are evolving and standard keyboards just don’t cut it. Here are the latest keyboards that can increase your efficiency, one keystroke at a time.

5 Mac keyboards you’ve got to see
  • Is QWERTY the most-efficient keyboard layout? Apparently not. According to research, having the keys in alphabetical order makes us type too quickly, causing the keys to jam. Shaking things up apparently slows us down.
  • Are multi-device keyboards the best option? If you’re always working on different devices, be it your MacBook, iPad or iMac, you definitely need a multi-device keyboard. That way, you can type on the same keyboard but use different devices at the same time.
  • Are keyboard covers actually effective? They do keep your keyboard safe from damage caused by spills. However, you need to make sure you’re using the right one and find a balance between form and function.

Since our first computer classes, we all know that typing faster is better (100 wpm, anyone?). Naturally, in order to be efficient, we need the right set of keys in front of us. Modern keyboards are highly versatile as they are continuously bridging the gap between comfort and design. And, it’s also good to consider a multi-device keyboard if you tend to work across a few devices. Of course, we’d love a super-keyboard that has all the latest technology in one. We’re imagining a compact wireless keyboard complete with Touch Bar-like functionality that can seamlessly switch between our iPhones and Macs. Although that’s too much to ask (at least for now), there are plenty of keyboards out there. Here are our top five favorite Mac keyboards.

Logitech Craft Advanced Smart Keyboard

Minimalist yet capable, this modern keyboard is complete with a creative input dial. Located in the upper left corner, the smooth-moving dial lets you adjust in small increments. Incredibly, this adjustment tool works beautifully in the Adobe suite including Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, and InDesign CC. In addition, it also works in Microsoft Office including Excel. With the full-functioning dial, you can rotate as well as click for full control.

Why we love it: It’s a great keyboard for those who juggle a lot of different tasks. Using Adobe tools is common among designers and this keyboard makes it easier than ever.

Apple Numeric Keypad Magic Keyboard

Now you can enjoy the benefits of a full Mac keyboard on all of your devices. Featuring an extended layout, the Magic Keyboard comes with full-size arrow keys and document navigation controls. Likewise, the navigation controls make it easy to scroll while the arrow keys are ideal for gamers. The numeric keypad also makes it perfect for spreadsheets, financial applications, and more.
