Laser Dust Detection reveals the dust in your home

The Dyson V15 Detect’s standout feature is the Laser Dust Detection. This technology provides a thorough and effective clean of your home—like after you perform a deep cleaning session, only better. Laser Dust Detection shows microscopic dust particles on the floor using an angled laser within the cleaner head. These are particles that you wouldn’t normally see with the naked eye, and thus, would ordinarily go unmissed. But imagine seeing dust spread across your entire floor; it would then be difficult to ignore.

In particular, the green laser diode positions precisely at a 1.5-degree angle and 7.3 mm off the ground. Therefore, no dust on the floor can escape the vacuum’s advanced technology. Not only will this allow you to provide an effective clean, but it may even reduce the amount of time you spend vacuuming since the work of locating the dust is already done for you. And with a 60-minute battery life, you can clean your entire home on a single charge.

Piezo sensor optimizes the vacuum’s power

Another great feature of the Dyson V15 Detect is the piezo sensor that works in collaboration with the Laser Dust Detection to adjust the motor’s power based on the amount of dust it’s collecting. As you vacuum, carbon fiber filaments pick up dust particles, which are then calculated up to 15,000 times a second. The dust then travels to the piezo sensor where it measures the dust and displays this information on an LCD screen in real-time. This display allows you to see how much dust was gathering in your home.

The sensor then relays this information to the motor, which increases or decreases its current power based on the amount of dust. And, with an auto mode, you don’t have to do anything. The piezo sensor can detect high concentrations of dust and maximize the vacuum’s power. And once the dust levels normalize while you continue vacuuming, the suction power will automatically reduce to reserve energy.
