From May 1–5, LEGO is launching the biggest event in the galaxy with the new-and-improved R2-D2, along with special offers and even free gifts with purchases. Discover what to expect on May the 4th (aka. Star Wars day), so you can make lots of exciting purchases.

LEGO’s biggest and “best” R2-D2 set

Launching on May 1, the new R2-D2 is an update of the original model and will cost $199.99. This detailed figurine boasts realistic features like a retractable mid-leg, opening and extendable front hatches, a rotating head, and a periscope. Measuring over 12 inches tall, 6 inches deep, and 7.5 inches wide, it’ll certainly draw attention when it’s displayed on your desk. If that’s not enough, the new R2-D2 includes a special Lucasfilm 50th anniversary LEGO brick, and it features a stand and plaque with a miniature R2-D2 figurine.

Deals and promotions to expect

As well as the new R2-D2 Star Wars collection, LEGO will gift you the Tatooine Homestead (worth $16.99) for free with orders over $85. Featuring 217 pieces, this building toy for kids works in combination with previous scenes to create a delightful display. This set features microbuilds of a landspeeder and Sandcrawler in addition to studs that represent Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, Aunt Beru, Owen Lars, 2 Jawas, and R2-D2. This building toy measures over 1.5 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide, and 6.5 inches deep.
