When designing the Speed backpack, the folks at the Frenchie Company made access their first priority. Rather than relying on insecure exterior pockets, they created a bag that quickly swings round to reveal the zippers.

Quick Access

With the bag on your back, there are two main ways of gaining quick entry to the Speed backpack.

Smaller items, such as your keys or your phone, can be stored in the two quick-access pockets. These are concealed on the underside of the bag, beneath a flap. You can quite easily reach back and release this flap while you’re still wearing the backpack. The pockets then hang down, allowing you to withdraw what you need.

To access everything else, you simply swing the bag around your body. This instantly turns the backpack into a kind of messenger bag, complete with a 15-inch laptop sleeve.

This is made possible by the Frenchie Company’s unique self-adjusting straps. They work much like seat belts, pulling and loosening to maintain the right amount of tension.

Rugged Style

The innovation doesn’t stop there. The Speed backpack is literally covered in great features — some, very space-age.

Take the choice of fabric: ballistic nylon. This material is used to make the suits that astronauts wear. On the Speed backpack, the nylon helps to maintain a constant temperature inside the bag. Even when the sun bakes down or the snow starts to fall, your devices will stay comfortable. Furthermore, the nylon is very tough and rain resistant.

There are 29 pockets in total, and the majority are protected by the anti-theft enclosure. This magnetic wrap prevents the zippers being opened by thieving fingers.
