Choose a multitool with attachments you’ll actually use when you have the GOAT Tools plier-based modular multitool set. This customizable tool lets you pick and choose the components you want. While most multitools come with a slew of attachments, you probably only use a handful regularly. The rest take up space in your toolbox. But what if you could select only the attachments you want? That would result in a toolbox with more space and fewer components rolling around. And it’s what the makers of this practical gadget hope to provide.

The GOAT Tools is a great multifunctional tool for modern creatives. This pliers-based gadget has aesthetically pleasing handle scales that you can design out of anything. Also, a handy clip attaches it to your pocket, making the GOAT Tools set easy to carry anywhere. The entire tool is made out of high-grade, rust-resistant stainless steel, which means that this is one durable tool from handle to tip. And since you can choose its functionality, it’s one you’ll always want to have with you.

Let’s talk about the pliers

You want your multitool to be as functional as possible. For that reason, the GOAT Tools’ creators opted for a combination set of pliers to make their tool as useful as possible. At the tool’s base, you’ll find normal width pliers that narrow slightly towards the tip. This turns them into needle-nose pliers for your most intricate work. And don’t worry, the plier handles have a gap to prevent that undesirable ‘plier pinch’ when you grip them tightly. And, most interesting, the pliers have three-times rotatable, replaceable wire cutters.

The handles feature high-grade stainless steel

You won’t have to worry about the quality of the handles on this modular multitool. They’re made out of high-grade stainless steel, so they’re durable and resistant to impact. What’s more, these handles fold into a comfortable carry/storage position. And once they’re closed, the entire tool boasts a highly durable pommel. The company likens it to a mini hammer, and you can use it to pound spikes into the ground, and you might even be able to use it to set up some of these outdoor gadgets to buy this summer. Best of all, the handles withstand tough impacts without the attachments or screws coming loose.

This customizable tool fits in your pocket

We already mentioned how pocket-friendly this modular multitool is, but let’s revisit this feature. It consists of a deep pocket carry clip to ensure that the tool stays inside your pocket or bag, where you want it to be. This makes it an ideal addition to your EDC collection because you can be sure it won’t fall out of your pocket as you go about your day. But if you’d rather not have a clip, that’s ok too. The clip is completely removable. What’s more, you can attach the clip to four different places on the GOAT Tools. Even cooler, you can even open four of the attachments with a one-handed functionality.

Detachable side scales let you design your tool

One of the GOAT Tools‘ coolest features is its detachable side scales. According to the company’s Kickstarter page, by utilizing the provided templates of your multitool’s sides, you can make your scales out of any material you like. It’s a design that’s ideal for creators because you can put your own touch on the tools you use every day. Some future side-scale materials include Micarta, carbon fiber, brass or powder finishes, and more. Plus, it’s easy to add or remove the scales. All you have to do is take off the screws on the tools’ sides, add your scales, and screw them down. That’s it. Then, you’ll have a multitool you designed yourself.

Add or remove attachments easily

You won’t have to disassemble your whole multitool to add or remove attachments on this modular tool. That’s thanks to its proprietary pivot and locking system. This method lets you choose exactly what you want your GOAT Tools to be. There’s a wide range of attachments including smooth or serrated blade options, scissors, tweezers, a hex attachment, and so much more. And just like the scales, it’s easy to attach and detach components, making it one of the best gadgets for creators out there.

Repairs are easy with this customizable multitool

Repairs on the GOAT Tools are convenient. If a GOAT Tools attachment breaks, all you have to do is send in the attachment to be replaced or repaired. You won’t have to send in the entire tool, allowing you to still use the parts you have while you wait. This is different from most multitool brands which usually require you to send the whole multitool. And the repair process can take up to three or four weeks which is a long time to be without your favorite tool.

The GOAT Tools is a pretty cool multitool. It features a wide selection of tools that you can purchase to customize your multitool just the way you want. Also, you can make your own scales to make the design all yours. Finally, with combination pliers that have three-sided wire cutters, all of your handiwork should become easier. If you create for a living or as a hobby, this is one of a multitool worth adding to your workshop.

The GOAT Tools plier-based modular multitool set is available for preorder on Kickstarter. Pledges start at $79. What are your favorite tools for creative work? Let us know about them in the comment section.
